SAFETY ULES FOR SPECIALISTS WHO DEAL WITH LASER
have approved written standard operating,maintenance,and service
use the minimum required power or energy to do the job
educate and train operators ,maintenance or service personnal commensurate with the level of potential hazard
only authorized personnal trained shall operate , maintain or service lasers. remove key from the key switch when the laser is not attended
science significant ocularhazards exist during alignment procedures, care should be taken so as not to expose the eye to a level above the MPE , and written procedures should be followed
never aim alaser beam at aperson’s eye
use propersafety eyewear if there is achance of potential exposure to laser beam or hazardous reflection
assure the spectators ara not potentially exposed to a hazardous condition
terminate the primary and secondary beams , if possible, at the end of their useful paths
keep laser beam paths above eye level whever feasible
operate class3 or class4 lasers only in awell conrolled winndows and controlled access
placard entryways and hazardous areas with DANGER signs
unless adequate protective filters or proper safety eye wear is wron , do not look directly into alaser beam with optical instruments
eliminate unnecessary specular (mirror- like( surfaces from the vicinity of the laser beam path.
