Environmental Applications of Nanotechnology
Currently, nanotechnology is being used to monitor environmental pollutants as well as to remediate various environmental problems. Nanotechnology will help to develop new environmentally safe and green technologies that can minimize the formation of undesirable byproducts or effluents. This technology is already being examined in several chemical and allied industries to possibly aid in a large reduction in pollutants and increase in energy saving. Another example can be seen in the auto industry: the use of nanocomposites in automotive parts could significantly reduce fuel consumption and reduce carbon dioxide emission. Nanotechnology is also being utilized to improve water quality and to assist in environmental clean-up issues. This webinar will focus on these and other environmental applications of nanotechnology.
