velocity of sound
theory : - when a tuning fork is held over a tube (as shown in fig (1) ) a standing wave pattern is formed in the tube . under the right condition,constructive interfernce will occur at the opening to cause resonance.this is a very noticeable rise in the amplitude, or loudness, of the sound that is caused by the addition of two waves in phase with each other. one of the waves is traveling down the tube & the other is traveling back up the tube.

1- suppose we replace the air in the tube by helium.what will be the effect on the measured velocity ???
2- how can you explain the increasing in sound intensity without increasing in generation power (fork vibrating power )? 0
