A rod with a mass of 10.2 g, radius of 6 cm, and a length of 0.5 m can slide without friction on a horizontal plane (the x-y plane). The rod is initially placed at rest parallel to the x-axis and carries a current 4 A in the x-direction. If a magnetic field B = (50 i + 20 j – 30k) mT acting on the rod, (i) Find the magnitude and direction of the velocity of the rod after 5 s, (ii) Find the reaction force of the horizontal plane on the rod.
