Title: The Science and Technology of Thin Films
Abstract:
Thin films have been an integral part in all aspects of modern technology. They have very well established applications in the fields of electronics, optics, sensors, and protective coatings. Thin film research is very multidisciplinary, involving scientists from the fields of physics, chemistry, materials science, mechanical, chemical, and electrical engineering. This seminar serves as an introductory survey into this important topic. Major deposition and characterization techniques, as well as the properties and applications of thin films will be discussed.
